Macro Practice

090413-macro-spider-0461

Found this spider in the laundry room while I was cleaning some new plans for my fish tank. I caught him in a jar and decided to practice taking some photos with my macro lens. I had difficult capturing him in a large depth of field. I thought I had enough light, but he was moving around pretty fast. I tried aperture priority first, but the camera wasn’t using a fast enough shutter speed, then I switched to time priority and successfully stopped him motion. Only now the f-stop was down to 2.8. I guess I just have to practice stacking frames.

it’s so much easier to take pics of flowers and other stationary things!

  2. Its a nice shot. I got a Sony Alpha A900. I love it. Not taken any picture of insects. I would like to try a lady bug on a really green leaf.
